Jesserie is a first-generation Latinx college graduate. She graduated from the University of California, Merced with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology. While completing her undergrad Jesserie gained experience working in the Student Affairs field through her work with the Success Mentor Program where she focused on coaching college students to identify and achieve success through a holistic approach. Through her undergrad, Jesserie discovered her passion for creating and assisting in the building of spaces that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging for students of color.
Most recently Jesserie spent 2 years serving in the Americorps with the nonprofit education organization City Year Los Angeles. Through her first year and team leader year, she coached young adults to further develop their leadership skills and helped to create and implement an enriching Extended Learning Program for Middle School Students. Jesserie focused specifically on creating space for folx to explore their interest and feel empowered to advocate for themselves and others. She is excited to be working with college students once again and continuing to build connections with folx.
Jesserie is originally from Los Angeles, California, and hails from the small community of Boyle Heights. She recently made the move to Melbourne, Florida with her partner and dog named Nimbus. In her free time, she can be found enjoying all things Disney, hiking, or rooting for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
