ReUp Education Partners with Henry Ford College to Expand Opportunities to Engage and Support Adult Learners

Austin, Texas – ReUp Education, a leading tech-enabled provider empowering adult learners, has announced a new partnership with Henry Ford College. This new partnership expands on commitment from both Henry Ford College and ReUp to support adult learners on their journey to pursue economic and social mobility in a 21st-century economy.

Currently, an estimated 40.4 million adults in the United States—one out of every six—have some college, no credential. Adult learners leave school for many reasons, including finances, work, family obligations, health-related issues, and life balance. Re-enrolling often means overcoming multiple obstacles, some personal and some due to institutional policies, persistent myths, and a lack of support.

Since 2015, ReUp has been helping colleges and universities engage, enroll, and support adult learners. Leveraging patented technology and one-on-one personalized coaching services, ReUp’s approach will help Henry Ford College reach learners who have previously put a pause on their education. This partnership will provide Henry Ford College students with specialized holistic support from ReUp that takes into consideration the key factors that impact individuals’ decisions to re-enroll and their unique journey toward earning their degree.

“More than half our students are over age 25, and many are returning to school after time away,” said Holly Diamond, Vice President for Student Affairs at Henry Ford College. “Our core mission is to support our students’ success in school, in life, and in their careers. We believe this new partnership with ReUp will expand support to students and help more of them achieve their goals.”

As part of the partnership, ReUp will also serve as an expert on adult learners for Henry Ford College, offering institution-specific insights and strategic recommendations based on industry trends, millions of data points on adult learners, and direct student feedback.

“As a former adult learner, I know only too well the challenges that face other adult learners as they pursue a degree. Time, money, and a support system are all crucial elements of a learner’s journey through higher ed, yet for too many of these degree-seekers, these factors are massive barriers to completion,” said Terah Crews, CEO of ReUp. “Through our new partnership with Henry Ford College, we are helping expand the support and resources available for adult learners, in turn helping to make the rollercoaster ride of higher education just a little less turbulent.”
