Emporia State University Partners With ReUp Education to Bring Back Stopout Students

San Francisco, California  ReUp announces its official partnership with Emporia State University to re-enroll students who have stopped-out of school without completing their college degree and to support them in earning the most powerful tool: a college degree.

Over 36 million Americans have some college but no degree. The reasons students drop out of college are multi-dimensional. Many of these students have a good start on earning their degree but are not benefiting from the earning power of a diploma. The social, economic, and human potential to be gained by completing their education is enormous. ReUp has the solution for helping students reengage and complete their education. The company is proud to work with some of the most diverse universities and colleges in the country, tackling this problem together at scale.

ReUp uses a unique blend of proprietary technology, data, and personalized coaching to engage and help re-enroll stopped-out students. Once students are re-enrolled, ReUp, along with the university, continues to provide its blend of services to foster personal accountability, encouragement, and support so that students have the tools to persist and complete what they started. This approach is particularly powerful because it provides a continuous support mechanism for every returning student, including first-generation and underrepresented populations, which are disproportionately more likely to not have access to an effective support system for navigating college.

ReUp and Emporia State University have started a partnership to engage the university’s stop-out students and present them with the opportunity to re-enroll. ReUp is engaging with these students to support their unique goals and help pave a path forward.

“We know that students who enroll at Emporia State come with a dream that a college education will help fulfill,” said Dr. Shelly Gehrke, Assistant Provost of Enrollment Management and Student Success at Emporia State. “Whatever the reasons they left ESU, we welcome the opportunity to help them resume their path toward their goals with the resources of both Emporia State and ReUp.”

Emporia State University is also a member of ReUp Network — the national on-ramp for college completion. Comprising innovative partner colleges and universities offering unique programs, the Network creates a more dynamic and equitable ecosystem to meet the needs of every student by becoming the easiest way for stop-outs to return or transfer to ESU — in order to earn their degree and improve their lives.
