Michael has a passion for lifelong learning and a drive to use data to solve real-world issues for businesses and individuals. He enjoys helping others develop a desire for learning and achieving their goals. Prior to joining ReUp, Michael worked as a data engineer, developing and maintaining the ETL architecture and analytic structures at Salt Lake Community College. He also designed and implemented the infrastructure to process all machine-learning workloads. Before becoming a data engineer, he worked as an accountant, where he pushed to automate tasks and improve financial analyses.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Masters of Data Analytics with an emphasis in Management Information Systems, both from Utah State University. He’s also earned certifications as a bicycle mechanic, suspension technician, and wheel builder after studying at the United Bicycle Institute in Ashland, Oregon. In his free time, he enjoys cycling and mountain biking.
