San Francisco, California: ReUp announces its official partnership with Eastern Michigan University to re-enroll stopout students and support them in earning the most powerful tool for social mobility: a college degree.
Over 37 million Americans have some college but no degree, with roughly half of all college students dropping out of school. The reasons students drop out are multi-dimensional. Many of these “Forgotten Students” leave college with mountains of debt (over $27 billion annually) and without the earning power of a diploma. The social, economic, and human potential loss is enormous.
While this completion crisis is alarming, ReUp has the solution. The company is proud to work with some of the most diverse universities and colleges in the country, tackling this problem together at scale. ReUp uses a unique blend of proprietary technology, data, and personalized coaching to engage and help re-enroll stopout students. Once students are re-enrolled, ReUp continues to provide its blend of services to foster personal accountability, encouragement, and support so that students have the tools to persist and complete what they started. This approach is particularly powerful because it provides a continuous support mechanism for every returning student, including first-generation and underrepresented populations, which are disproportionately more likely to not have access to an effective support system for navigating college.
ReUp and Eastern Michigan University have started a partnership to engage the university’s stopout students and present them with the opportunity to re-enroll. ReUp has been given a list of Eastern Michigan University students who completed some coursework but dropped out before completing their degrees and has begun the process of engaging with the students to support their unique goals and help pave a path forward.
