A letter from our CEO

ReUp friends,

What a year it’s been! As we head into the holidays, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on everything that’s happened over the last twelve months — and we’re thrilled to share some of those happenings with you.

In 2019, ReUp Education:

  • Made new friends. This year, our community of partners grew 105%. We now work with 39 colleges and universities in 15 states across the country.
  • Helped more students. In 2019, we worked with over 127,000 students – nearly doubling the 66,000 students we worked with in 2018. An additional 750 students graduated with ReUp’s help this year, increasing our total number of graduates by over 50%.
    • This means that to-date, we’ve worked with over 200,000 students, helped 10,000 return to school, and 2,000 to graduate.
  • Grew our team. We now number a whopping 40 employees — that’s 74% growth!

And that’s not all. In case you missed it, we were featured in Forbes, EdSurge, Education Dive, and Inside Higher Ed (and stay tuned for more coverage in 2020 😉 ). We also graced the stage at ASU GSV 2019, and will be making a featured appearance in Austin next spring at SXSW EDU.

It’s been a busy year from the business side, too. In 2019, we raised a Series A round, opened a new office in San Francisco, and launched a brand-new website.

We’re feeling good as we head into 2020, and it turns out we’re not the only ones. This month, we’re beyond excited to announce that ReUp was selected as Education Dive’s Innovator of the Year. It’s a testament to the incredible work of our team — and a reminder of just how much further there is to go as we work to support the 36 million students across the country with some college and no degree.

What’s next for the ReUp team? In 2020, you can expect us to continue growing, but we’ve also got some exciting new technology developments and partnerships in the works that you’ll hear more about in the new year.

America’s completion crisis remains a challenge that we and our partners are committed to solving. And we’re proud to say that over the past year, our work has moved the needle in helping students return to school and complete. We couldn’t have done it without the commitment of the coaches, college administrators, and students whom we’re fortunate to work with every day — and we’re excited to continue our momentum in the year to come.

Thanks for your partnership and support, and here’s to an exciting 2020!

Happy holidays,

Sarah + the ReUp team
